PRIME MINISTER'S DELIVERY UNIT (PMDU)

As a centre of government solution, the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit provides cross-governmental functions: planning, coordination, monitoring, and implementation management of the Government's 8 Key Priorities - Land Reform, Over-The-Hill, Energy, Infrastructure, Public Service Modernization, Safety & Security, Education, and Ease of Doing Business. 

 

As the Over-The-Hill and Land Reform Priority Manager, I worked with leadership (overseeing these Key Priorities) to achieve their respective 5 and 4 targets for June 2021.

 

General Chinese Government Scholarship Program

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE BAHAMAS (MOFA)

With managing this Scholarship Program, administered through MOFA, I coordinated meetings with the Embassy of China in Nassau, collected applications, assessed the same, contacted candidates, selected the Interviewing Evaluation Panel of 6, scheduled interviews, tabulated results, coordinated the activities of 3 assisting Officers, and liaised with the Embassy post assessment.

 

As a result, 11  Bahamian Scholarship recipients were selected for Sept., 2018. 

UP-dating the BILATERAL AND MULTILATERAL TREATY REGISTRIES

OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE BAHAMAS

Spearheaded by myself and another Officer, approximately 300 treaties were logged from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Legal Affairs Division, and the Protocol Division; organized according to date; and relevant information filed within the bilateral and multilateral treaty registries. 

 

Immediate action was taken to begin digitizing both registries for placement on the Government website. 

11th Annual Commonwealth Writers of The Bahamas Writing Awards

THE COMMONWEALTH WRITERS OF THE BAHAMAS (TCWB)

Location: Melia Hotel  

Aiding Mrs. Vera Chase, TCWB President, I assisted with sponsorship, marketing, entertainment, and venue procurement for the 11th Annual Writing Awards with a budget of approximately $8,500. Over 200 guests (the largest audience in TCWB history) arrived for a red-carpet event which showcased the winners of TCWB 11th Annual Writing Contest in age categories from 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-17, and 18 +

SCREENPLAY CREATION FOR FEATURE FILM - POMPEY: A Slave's REVOLT

THE COMMONWEALTH WRITERS OF THE BAHAMAS

I co-wrote the screenplay for the upcoming Bahamian feature film – Pompey: A Slave’s Revolt, adapted from a slave narrative by Mrs. Vera Chase.  The film celebrates Bahamian enslaved history. For over a year, consultation was sought from historical experts such as Dr. Chris Curry – University of The Bahamas; scholarly texts such as journals, books, and commentaries, were researched; and archives were searched.  

CASTING CALL FOR POMPEY: A SLAVE'S REVOLT

Location: University of The Bahamas

I served as the Project Manager for the initial casting call for Pompey: A Slave’s Revolt by leading a team of 12 cultural experts and volunteers who oversaw about 25 auditioners.

Production Dates: Jun. 25 & 26, 2016

Rehearsal Length: Apr. 2016 - Jun. 2016

Location: The Dundas Centre for Performing Arts

As Stage Manager, I oversaw a cast of 15 actors and an 8 person crew. Throughout the duration of 7 weeks, I provided script and directorial guidance to the play’s Director and during productions ensured that set design and placement was maintained. With 8 scenes changes, elaborate sets, and 23 people to manoeuvre this proved to be no easy task. 

Til' Death Do Us Part was the first production for the newly-formed theatre group.

REAL LAUGHS NETWORK & THE DUNDAS CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS

Production Dates: Nov. 19, 2016

Rehearsal Length: Sep. 2016 - Nov. 2016

Location: The Dundas Centre for Performing Arts

The cast and crew consisted of approximately 20 people ranging from actors to promotional and back-stage staff. As Director, I coordinated rehearsal schedules, oversaw final set design, rehearsed with actors, and made creative choices for the production.

$4,000 were raised for Hurricane Matthew victims. Monies were donated to schools in Andros and The Berry Islands.
